Yoga Angels International and its Foundation has been developing, innovating, and implementing cutting edge programming for youth and adults since 1997. What began as a primarily youth centre organization has moved into an international market for all ages with the philosophy of integrating health, wellness, and fun in order to transform lives. We have an international team of highly trained and passionate leaders who strive to bring the tenants of the yoga, wellness lifestyle and teachers training through self-development programs and classes as means of reducing stress, increasing personal awareness, and healing dis-ease. We have held contracts with the City of Beverly Hills (2013 – 2018, Organization of American States / USAID TRUST (January 2015 – 2018), and Sagicor (2011 – 2018).
YAI offered yoga in every forum imaginable, such as corporations, churches, correctional, recreational facilities and everywhere in between. We believe in the power of yoga and wellness to guide individuals back to themselves and their own innate wisdom. In today's society, so many are struggling to maintain a healthy balance between their personal and professional lives. What we have discovered is that when an individual has become out of balance physically, emotionally, and/or psychologically, it permeates every aspect of their life. We offer a holistic approach that integrates breath and movement in order to reduce stress and bring the body and mind back into homeostasis. It is from this space that we have witnessed the personal transformation in the individuals and groups we work with. One such transformation is the collaborative effort with the Organization of American States that took place at South Camp Youth Correctional Facility. Through this cutting edge program, we offer yoga to the wards and correctional officers while training and certifying selected officers to be yoga and mindfulness teachers. Throughout this yoga and mindfulness program we have witnessed a significant cultural shift in the way the wards and staff interact. The selected group of officers trained to become certified teachers teach the wards and facilitate a sustainable program at the correctional institutions. Community programs such as this exist so that youth and adults are empowered to stand in their own bodies and minds and integrate all of their experience into their actions. We offer the practice of yoga, and other wellness modalities as a catalyst to a healthy lifestyle and a positive future.
YAI currently hosts teacher training in Los Angeles, California and Kingston, Jamaica. YAI continues to introduce its youth work and training in various countries, its most recent being Africa . We teach in large and small corporations, schools, churches, correctional and recreational facilities, yoga studios, etc.
We continue to build and expand on our community outreach and wellness programs. The Yoga Angels recently pivoted online due to covid and currently offers a broad range of classes six days per week through our dynamic Yoga Angels teachers who are teaching yoga worldwide in Europe and the Caribbean in person and online.
