Typically takes a year to 18 months to get up and running and some times profitable. I started the journey in late April 2019 and it took until August 2019 to get certified, website up, and then dropped a huge marketing blast that cost over 8k. I sold 2 business early 2020 and had almost 10 others interested and then the pandemic hit. Selling someone's business is a highly confidential offering. I did a few consulting jobs in the insurance industry, but due to a start-up was not eligible for any PPP money. Received $1000 EIDL. Thank goodness for the stimulus money and unemployment. I just finished getting licensed in Life Insurance and studying for Health. I am trying to supplement my income anyway I can. I helped other women owned businesses apply for local grants, EIDL and PPP. Right now I need money to do more marketing and try and regain some of the momentum I had gained before the pandemic. I made gross 118K and had 2 full time people (one was a full time contractor and myself) and one part-time subcontractor when the pandemic hit.
