The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina led me, a native New Orleanian to Georgia in August of 2005. I soon realized there were no snowball stands where I could enjoy my favorite frozen treat on a hot summer day in Metro Atlanta. I purchased an "in home style" snowball machine and flavors and began perfecting the craft of shaving ice. Over the years, I would make snowballs for friends and co-workers at company events. The popularity of snowballs grew and so did my desire to open my own New Orleans style sneaux-ball stand.
I am a snowball connoisseur. According to my mom, I have been eating sneaux-balls since I was six months old so that definitely makes me an expert. I have vivid memories as a child of going to the snowball stand after school and choosing bright colored flavors that I am sure my mom gasped over because they would stain my lips and mouth for days. I just want to be a facilitator in creating similar memories for other children and families.
