I used the time last year when it was a ghost… Mad Mod Shop is a happy place with vintage vibes offering a curated collection of smile tested goods and apparel. I started the shop with my savings and made it through COVID by sewing and selling masks. I used the time last year when it was a ghost town to study pattern making and making patterns for designs to come that have only lived in my imagination. One design at a time, the designs will be coming to fruition in small locally produced batches for my own slow fashion line exclusive to the shop. I found a female owned sewing workshop in Oakland CA to produce small batches to scale production up to more than I can produce personally sewing between customer visits. Prior to opening the shop I envisioned all the garments in the shop and after building out the space and then seeking out the merchandise, I realized these happy designs did not yet exist and that I would have to make them myself. I then started patternmaking school to get it going. The line, focusing on creating happy pieces for magical moments in our customer's story will be made with heirloom quality and produced locally in California.
