I started my first company in 1999, when I was just 24 years old. I encountered lots of obstacles along the way. My company pivoted many times over the years — and I bumped my head more times than I care to count. Ultimately, owning a business enabled me to completely change my family’s economic circumstance. Now, I’m using everything I’ve learned to guide entrepreneurs of color through the unique challenges we often encounter.
