It… Cultured Diapers started in 2014 out of the need for a baby shower gift for underserved Detroit moms I supported as a volunteer community-based doula. As a broke college student, I pioneered ‘the cultured diaper’ thanks to good ol' Youtube. It was purely out of the need to not show up empty-handed for my moms when they invited me to their baby showers. Now, for those who don't know, a 'cultured diaper' is what we call a "sucka-free cloth diaper." This is any cloth diaper that reps black culture and is free of sucka things like boring prints, toxins & chemicals, and leaks & blow-outs just to name a few. Not only did I make cloth diapers for the purpose of not showing up empty-handed, but I also wanted to help reduce the diaper need for my moms.
