She founded ChiChi Mix, with only 100 dollars, 6 months after giving birth to her second son. Her reasons for starting her company came from her desire to teach her sons about their African heritage, by introducing them to food eaten in Nigeria, the country where she is from. She also desired to implement healthier meal plan regimes at an early age, in order to improve their overall nutrition. The name, "ChiChi," comes from the word, chinchin, which is a popular snack food eaten in Nigeria. It is the company's mission to provide a representation of West African culture in the food industry in a way that is authentic and health-conscious.
