The doctor prescribed triamcinolone acetonide with instructions to use it every day with a moisturizer.
What the doctor didn't do was explain that it was a potent steroid and should only be used in an extreme situation. Like when her skin was bleeding or had scars. I was super disappointed by cost and the ineffectiveness of the products being suggested by her pediatrician. Essentially, they were a waste of money. I would apply the suggested moisturizers and less than a hour later I would have to apply more.
I did extensive research. I found out that eczema is an autoimmune disease and people with dry skin and eczema have low ceramide levels. Ceramides naturally occur in our skin to help the skin retain moisture.
