BOXOCHOPS is a North Dallas based black-owned and family-owned business that started in 2018 when me and my sisters, all immigrants to the U.S. set out to find high quality West African style street food (also known as small chops) in their community. A fan favorite at events, Small chops come in various forms and include sweet and savory snack size pastries, succulent meats seasoned with peppers and fiery spices, and refreshing drinks.
Realizing how difficult it was to find contemporary options on the market, we partnered with our mom, a catering veteran of over 30 years, drawing on the diverse roots of Nigerian cuisine to create modern renditions of authentic specialties. We shared the curated snack boxes with friends and family, who encouraged us to make it official and in 2020 amidst a global pandemic, BOXOCHOPS was born with a mission to open up a whole new culinary experience to the masses and share the vast diversity of authentic West African street food with the world!
Our purpose is to redefine the way consumers experience West African fast casual cuisine by providing high quality, flavor-rich, and authentic flavors, always prepared with a modern flair. We plan to expand the BOXOCHOPS brand nationwide, with snacks offered online and in supermarkets.
